Donald Roy Eastman, 81 of Gaston, died Saturday morning, February 10, 2018 at his residence. He was born July 9, 1936 in Anderson and was the son of the late Donald B. & Helen (Hill) Eastman.

Donald retired from General Motors after 23 years of dedicated service. He had been employed at Borg Warner. Donald proudly and honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps and the United States Air Force.  Donald loved going camping, fishing, out to eat, and being with his grandchildren. His favorite sayings were "O Happy Day" and "I Love You With All My Heart".

Donald is survived by his two daughters Elaina Miller of Gaston and Ena Hollowell (Marc, who was like a son) of Gaston; four grandchildren, Michael Miller of Noble, OK, Allen Johns of Oklahoma City, OK, Katelyn Hollowell of Gaston, and Dustin Miller of Hartford City; two great-grandchildren Alec Miller of Greenville, SC and Henry Miller of Hartford City; a step-sister Deanna Manis of Lafayette and a sister-in-law Vera Higdon of Daleville. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Muriel Mae Eastman (Swain) in 2000; a daughter Elisa Johns in 2010; step-mother Della Eastman and a step-brother David Higdon.
