Obituary

Donald C. Hatcher, 62, passed away late Thursday, October 8, 2009 at Ball Memorial Hospital following a sudden illness.
He was born in Muncie, the son of Raymond K. Hatcher and Pauline Litler Crouse. He graduated from Muncie Central High School in 1965, later attended Ivy Tech College, and spent most of his life in this area.
Don served two tours during the Viet Nam War and was employed for more than sixteen years with the Muncie City Sanitary District.
He attended Christ United Methodist Church in Selma, was a member of the Selma American Legion, Post 437, loved his music, loved to fish and was active with the Bass Masters for many years.
Surviving are his wife of more than thirty-four years, Karen Hobbick Hatcher; his daughter, Jodie A. Hatcher (companion, David Jordan); two grandchildren, Eric and Alyssa Jordan; a sister, Tami Simpson (husband, Tom); three brothers, James Hatcher (wife, Carolyn), David Crouse (wife, Alice), and Michael Hatcher (wife, Leslie); and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Randy Hatcher and Clark Crouse.
Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 12, 2009 at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel, with Pastor Dennis Rush officiating.
Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, 10703 N. State Rd. 3, Muncie, In, with military graveside services conducted by the Army and the Selma American Legion, Post 437.
Friends may call from 2-6 p.m. Sunday, or one hour prior to service time on Monday at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory.
