Donald Eugene King, 90, of Parker City, died Tuesday morning, February 7, 2017 at Parker Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born December 8, 1926 in Stearns, KY and was the son of the late Theodore A. & Irene (Shinpaugh) King.
Donald was a loving husband, dad, grandpa and great-grandpa. He retired in 1989 from Borg Warner after 44 years of dedicated service. Donald proudly and honorably served his country in the United States Navy during WWII. He was a member of Glad Tidings Church.
Donald is survived by his loving wife of 68 years Mary Ann King (McDonald), whom he married June 19, 1948; four sons David King (Sue) of Hastings, MI, Mike King (Rhonda) of Muncie, Darrell King (Kim) of Anderson, and Mark King of Parker City; eleven grandchildren, Chris, Jay, Mike, Cassidy, Casey, Rebecca, Jennifer, Jason, April, August, and Adrian; twenty-one great-grandchildren; two sisters Becky Wilkins (Phil) of Stow, OH and Mary Lou Abbott of Hialeah, FL; several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Ted King.
Funeral Services for Donald will be held Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Garden View Funeral Home with Pastor Kevin Holt officiating. Burial will follow with military honors being conducted by the United States Navy and the Delaware County Honor Guard in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, February 10, 2017 at the funeral home.
