Donald Lee Osborn, 83, of Yorktown, died Monday evening, January 21st, 2013 at The Waters of Yorktown. He was born December 16th, 1929 in Muncie, IN. and was the son of the late Merrill & Rosa (Hatfield) Osborn.
Donald retired in 1992 after 43 years of service from Borg Warner. He was a very active church member, who loved the Lord and serving him. He was a member of the Christian Congregational Church in Alexandria, where he served as a deacon, and with the Awana Program. He greatly loved his family especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Donald is survived by his children, Merrell Osborn of Muncie, Mark Osborn (Amy) of Muncie, Cora Bryans (Barry) of Anderson, Penelope Jester (Phillip) of Yorktown, Sheila Crabtree (Charles) of Muncie, and Rebecca Anderson (Max) of Farmland; fifteen grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren; a sister Mae Cooper of Mt. Pleasant; several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 61 years Carol Osborn, two brothers, three sisters, two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and a daughter-in-law.
Funeral Services for Donald will be held Friday, January 25th, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Garden View Funeral Home with Pastor Jerry Young officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday January 24th, 2013 and from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday.
