Donald Lee Romine, 92, originally of Albany, Indiana, passed away on September 15, 2025, at The Cumberland Home Hospice in Crossville, Tennessee.
Don was born on March 28, 1933, in Huntington, West Virginia, to the late Otho Romine and Opal Jobe Romine. He proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1951 to 1955, working in the Air Training Command as a flight mechanic.
After his military service, Don returned to Albany with his then-wife, Frances, and their son. He spent most of his working life employed at Warner Gear in Muncie while also farming a small property outside of Albany. Don was a man of many interests and commitments. He was a member of the Albany Methodist Church, a dedicated Freemason since 1964, a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason since 1977, and a member of Anthony Lodge.
A licensed private pilot, Don had a lifelong love for flying. In retirement, he pursued his passion for restoring and displaying antique engines. He was an active member of both the Tri-State Gas Engine & Tractor Association and the Oil Field Engine Society.
Don is survived by his children Doug (Patricia) Romine, Daniel Romine, Louis Wilkerson, Jullie Ann (Mike) Motsenbocker, and Melissa Jane (Keith) Purkey.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Otho Romine and Opal (Jobe) Rush; his sister, Glenda Ross; and his second wife of 41 years, Mary Jane Wilkinson Romine and Roxanne Wilkerson.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 p.m. at:
