Donald F. Walker, age 83, died at Harbour Manor in Noblesville, on February 8, 2019.
He was born February 8, 1936 in Muncie, the son of the late Charles Russell and Hazel Marie (Watson) Walker.
Don was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, yard work, watching his favorite sports teams, vacations in Gatlinburg and fixing cars. He also enjoyed walking at the Muncie Mall and visiting with his friends at the MCL. For many years he served as a nursing home volunteer. He was a 1955 graduate of Royerton High School and a General Motors retiree of 41 years.
Don is survived by his daughter, Shelley (Walker) Ahlersmeyer, Noblesville, grandchildren: Abby Olson (Steve), Noblesville, Emily Ahlersmeyer, Noblesville, Joe Ahlersmeyer (Kim), Atlanta, Georgia, Tim Ahlersmeyer, Indianapolis, Josh Ahlersmeyer, Fort Wayne, Louie Galbraith (Val), Leesburg, Virginia, Kelli Cooney (Bob), Loveland, Ohio, Adam Walker, Lebanon, Kirklyn Walker, Lebanon, and great-grandchildren: Andrew and Katie Olson, Noblesville. He is also survived by a sister, Ruth Long, Florida, daughter-in-law, Kay Walker, Lebanon and son-in-law, Lou Galbraith, Mainville, Ohio.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Carol Joanne (McKinley) Walker, daughter, Tamara (Walker) Galbraith, son, Daniel Walker, three brothers, William Walker, Russell Walker and Robert Walker, and two sisters, Jacqueline Reading and Francis Gignac.
Funeral services for Don will be held on Friday, February 15, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. at the Garden View Funeral Home with Rev. Thomas Ahlersmeyer officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
Family and friends may call from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the funeral service.
