Donna Jeannette Fry, 82 of Hartford City, passed away Thursday afternoon, September 8th, 2016 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital. She was born February 8th, 1934 in Hartford City, IN and was the daughter of the late Herbert C. & Alma I.(Bricker) Nuckols.
Donna was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved being with her family. Donna retired from Westlawn Elementary Schools after 34 ½ years as an elementary teacher. She enjoyed playing cards, crocheting, coaching softball, watching sports especially IU and the Reds and had a great love for teaching children. Donna was a member of the Indiana State Teachers Association, Jay County Teachers Association; she also served as a Boy and Girl Scout leader.
Donna is survived by her two daughters, Jeannie Cain (Rick) of Hartford City and Jo Ann Long (Joe) of Cambridge, MN; nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren; a sister Judy Moore of Ridgeville and two brothers, George Nuckols of Muncie and Mack Nuckols (Beverly) of Redkey; several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Jack L. Fry, Sr., a son Jack L. Fry, Jr., a sister Wanda Miller, three brothers Herbert, Erwin, and Larry Nuckols.
Funeral Services for Donna will be held Wednesday, September 14th, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Garden View Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, September 13th, 2016 and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
