Doris Jean Adams, 85, passed away Tuesday February 12, 2008 at Ball Memorial Hospital after an extended illness.
She was born in Paris, Illinois, February 12, 1923 and raised by Glenn Ellen Orphanage in Terre Haute. Doris was a member of the Northside Assembly of God Church where she was a Sunday school teacher for 35 years and the Sympathy Club # 105. She liked to make quilts, was an avid reader, and retired from Ball Memorial Hospital.
Survivors include her son, Brian Adams, (wife-Kathy), Polson, Montana; an adopted daughter, Jan Connor, (husband-Roy), Muncie; eight grandchildren, Rodger, Larry, Beth, Dustin, Jeremiah, Alisha, Laura and Christy; fourteen great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Otis; one daughter, Shirley Ann Seats; two sisters, Mary Lou Dowaney and Mary Helen Fox.
Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 18, 2008 at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel, with Pastor Carlton Bowden officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, north of Muncie.
Friends may call Sunday, February 17, 2008, at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street chapel, from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m. or one hour prior to services time on Monday.
