Doris Maurer, 64, of Muncie, IN died Tuesday July 6, 2010 at her residence after a brief illness. She was born on April 27, 1946 in Heidelburg, Germany the daughter of Elisabeth Kamuf.
Doris enjoyed shopping, boating, and was an avid NASCAR and wrestling fan. She was a Dale Earnhardt fan. She worked as a bartender for over 28 years and enjoyed gambling and spending time in Las Vegas and Florida.
Surviving relatives include two sons, Bobby Gann (Tasha) of Muncie, IN; James Gann (Misty) of Muncie, IN; four daughters, Tammy Gann (Kevin) of Indianapolis, IN; Angela Maurer (Dakota) of Yorktown, IN; Amanda Maurer (Bradley) of McCordsville, IN; Barbara Maurer (Ryan) of Muncie, IN; three grandsons and five granddaughters, James Sears of Somerset, KY; Jessie Gann of Indianapolis, IN; Austin Gann of Lafayette, IN; Maria Sears of Muncie, IN; Kayla Monroe of North Carolina; Abigail Hollingsworth of Muncie, IN; James Gann of Muncie, IN; Sydni Buck of Muncie, IN; three great grandchildren; and a former spouse, Daniel Maurer.
She was preceded in death by her mother; one brother, Carl Kamuf; great grandson, Bently Couch; special aunt, Luise Manfred; grandparents Wilhem and Elisabeth Kamuf; and former spouse, James Robert Gann.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday July 9, 2010 at Garden View Funeral Home 10501 North State Road 3 Muncie, IN. Burial will follow at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie, IN. Visitation will be on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the Little Red Door Cancer Services of ECI or to A.R.F..
