Dorothy L. Campbell, Dunkirk, IN, passed away at 12:18 p.m. Monday, December 7, 2009 in the company of family at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC.
Dorothy was born in Clarksburg, W.V on August 18, 1926, a daughter of the late Geraldine (Leek) and Gilbert L. Williams.
She was a graduate of Dunkirk High School Class of 1944.
Dorothy worked for twenty years at the Dunkirk News and Sun.
She was a member the Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church in Dunkirk, IN and attended Trinty United Methodist Church in Elizabethtown, NC. She was also a member of Eastern Star 175, Zeta Chi Alumni, Delta Theta Tau Sorority, and the BPW.
Dorothy was the wife of Everett W. (Scoop) Campbell who survives. They were married on Oct. 30, 1945 in Long Beach, CA.
She is also survived by a son, Jeffrey B. (Alpha) Campbell, of White Lake, NC; three daughters, Kara Sue (Dennis) Reasoner, of Floyds Knobs, IN, Linda K. (Sean) Burcham, of Dunkirk, IN, Tracy J. (Dale) Taylor, of Elizabethtown, NC; a sister, Joan (Wayman) Ford, of Redkey, IN; eleven grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
Funeral services are 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 12, 2009 at Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church, Dunkirk, IN, with Pastor Randy Davis officiating.
A graveside service will follow at Gardens of Memory, 10703 N. State Rd. 3, Muncie, IN.
Friends are invited to call from 5-8 p.m. Friday, December 11, 2009 at Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church, Dunkirk, and from 10-11 a.m. Saturday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church in Dunkirk, IN.
