Dorothy Louise Leake, (nee Parsons) 97, of Muncie passed away on Saturday February 22, 2014 at Bethel Pointe Health and Rehabilitation , Muncie. Born on July 22, 1916 in Spencer, IN she the daughter of the late Frank and Hettie (Hendershot) Parsons.
She and her family moved to the Muncie area in 1937, where she has since been a resident.
Dorothy was a manager at Ballard Hardware for 25 years. She was a member of High Street United Methodist Church, where she helped with the Thursday Luncheon Program for over 30 years. She was also a 50 year member of the Rebecca Lodge.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter Margaret (David) Study of Round Lake, IL ; son Thomas Leake of Muncie; 3 grandsons Doug (Elizabeth) Study of Round Lake,IL, Mathew (Carla) Leake of Westville,IN, and Brian (Kasey) Leake of Michigan City, IN; 6 great-grandchildren; brothers Charles, Fred, and Carl Parsons all of Muncie and Ray (Maggie) Parsons of Royerton; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Francis of 59 years in 1996; son Robert in 2002; brothers Paul and Perry Parsons; sisters Josephine Clevenger and Ruth Vanderburg.
Friends may call on Wednesday February 26, 2014 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Garden View Funeral Home 10501 N. Indiana 3, Muncie. Funeral services will immediately follow at 1:00p.m. Burial will be in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Muncie.
Memorial contributions may be given in memory of Mrs. Leake to the High Street United Methodist Church or to that of the Donor''s Choice.
