Dorothy M. Poor, age 72, of Muncie, IN passed away Sunday, October 16, 2011 at Liberty Village Nursing Home. She was born August 4, 1939 in LaFayette, GA to Eugene and Cordilla (Walker) Pruitt. She married Kirby L. Poor and he preceded her in death on October 7 2005. She was a homemaker who loved her family and she will be sorely missed by all those who knew her.
Dorothy is survived by her sons, Donald Dewayne Poor, of Selma, and Kirby Dean Poor (wife Jenny), of Muncie; daughters, Sheila Elliott (husband Steve), of Selma, and Sharon Yarger, of Indianapolis; one brother , Oscar Pruitt of Charleston, SC; 9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers and 5 sisters.
Funeral services will be held Friday, October 21, 2011 at 1:00 PM at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N. State Rd. 3, Muncie, IN 47303 with Rev. James McCowan officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, October 20, 2011 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
