Obituary

Dortha Watters, 83, passed away at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, November 14, 2009 at Millers Merry Manor in Hartford City, IN.
She was born on Saturday, January 23, 1926, in Buffalo, TN.
Mrs. Watters had been a homemaker. She had formerly lived in Washington Township-Blackford County, IN. She enjoyed quilting, gardening and camping, she attended Westside United Baptist Church in Muncie, IN and attended school in McCreary County, Kentucky.
She married James Watters on September 8, 1943 in Stearns, Kentucky.
She was the daughter of the late Ruffus Winchester and the late Flora Bell (Kidd) Winchester.
Survivors include her daughters, Flora Jean (husband, Tim) McCoin of Hartford City, Marsha Phillips of Montpelier, Clessie Reynolds of Arlington, Texas, Patricia Costa of Melrose, Mass., Kathy (husband, Jerry) McClain of Liberty Center, Loretta Lynn Prowse of Arlington, Texas; sons, Rolen Watters of Marion, James (wife, Annette) Watters, Jr. of San Antonio, Texas, Darrell Watters of Arlington, Texas, David Watters of Arlington, Texas; brother, Winford Winchester of Muncie; sister, Catherine Hill of Muncie; half sister, Ardie Troxell of Whitley City, Ky; thirty grandchildren; twenty-five great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Watters; father, Ruffus Winchester; mother, Flora Bell (Kidd) Winchester; three brothers; one sister; son-in-law, Tracy Phillips; three grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
Joint funeral services for James & Dortha will be at 12:00 noon Saturday, November 21, 2009 at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home.
Pastor Larry Watters and Rev. Clarence Baker officiating. Interment will be at Gardens of Memory Cemetery, 10703 N. State Rd. 3, Muncie, IN.
Joint visitations for James and Dortha will be from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Friday, November 20, 2009 at the funeral home.
