Douglas James Thompson, 73, of Albany, IN died Monday July 20, 2009 at his residence. He was born on February 3, 1937 in Flatwoods, KY the son of Ollie and Gladys Thompson.
He enjoyed spending time with all his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed NASCAR and fishing.
Surviving relatives include one son and four daughters, Ollie Thompson (wife: Kandi) of Albany, IN; Pam Bryant of Caledoni, OH; Elizabeth Birtcher of Wabash, IN; Carmania Lyons (husband: Mike) of Marion, IN; Natalie Barber (husband: Jeffery) of California; one brother, David Thompson of Muncie, IN; one sister, Judy Davis of Yorktown, IN; eight grandchildren, Nathan Smith, Nickolas Smith, Brandi Moore, Jason Thompson, Jeremy Thompson, Justin Thompson, Emily Bryant, Jeffery Barber; seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, and two grandchildren, Jacob Thompson and Tyler Barber.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday July 24, 2009 at Garden View Funeral Home 10501 North State Road 3 Muncie, IN. Burial will follow in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie, IN.
