HARTFORD CITY - Dow Lorenzo Doublin, 82, died at 1:23 a.m. Tuesday, December 7, 2010 at Ball Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Lebanon, Missouri on September 22, 1928 to the late Joseph Doublin and the late Mary Ellen (Graham) Doublin.
Dow married Freda M. (Crocker) Doublin in Bluffton on February 16, 1974. She precedes him in death on February 27, 1999.
He retired from Sheller Globe Company in Montpelier in 1989 after thirty-five years of service.
Dow will be sadly missed by his sons, Mike D. (wife, Brenda C.) Doublin of St. Peters, Missouri; Richard E. Doublin of Hartford City; daughters, Dorothy J. "Dot" (husband, David P.) Rinderle of Celina, Ohio; Ellen E. (husband, Jeff R.) Myers of Hartford City; Darlene E. (husband, Gary M.) Grantham of Sterling, Illinois; ten grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; step-sons, Dick (wife, Marilyn) Baker of Bakersfield, CA; Don (Wife, Janie) Baker of Millgrove, IN; several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife; brothers, Clyde Doublin, Turner Doublin, Dale Doublin, Ray Doublin, Robert Doublin, Archie Doublin; sisters, Vera Abernathy, Velma Morehouse and Violet Tillman.
Funeral service for Dow will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 10, 2010 at Keplinger Funeral Home, 509 N. High St. with Rev. Mark Wakeland of Mt. Carmel Church of God in Celina, Ohio officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory, Muncie.
Visitation will be from 3-5 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, December 9, 2010 and from 9-11 a.m. Friday, December 10, 2010 at Keplinger Funeral Home.
