Dré Tyler Cooley of Orlando, Florida went to be with Jesus at the age of 27 on Thursday, September 30, 2021. He was born in Muncie, Indiana on January 12, 1994 to James Cooley and Holly McDaniel.
Dré attended Wapahani High School in Selma, Indiana and worked as a construction worker in the petroleum industry. He loved sports, including wrestling and football. He was a Christian, was really good at math, and enjoyed fishing and spending time with his black lab, Bentley.
Dré is survived by the grandparents who raised him, George and Joellen "Mimi" (McQueen) Shafer of Selma, Indiana; his parents, James Cooley of Orlando, Florida and Holly McDaniel of Parker City, Indiana; brother, James Tyson Cooley (Meghan) of Anderson, Indiana; sister, Tanner Cooley of Anderson, Indiana; great aunt, Kristi Wookey of La Crosse, Wisconsin; aunt, Shawna Carroll of Fort Wayne, Indiana; uncle, Kevin Heath (Amy) of Royerton, Indiana; cousins, Tannen Fair, Boaz Heath, Mackenzie Estell, and Trevor Heath; nephew, Skyler McDaniel; nieces, Taylor and Madison McDaniel; good friends, Stefan Harry, Clayton Harry, and Cody Burke; girlfriend, Katie Dibiago; and many other friends.
Dré was preceded in death by his great grandparents, Robert and Edna Shafer and his brother, Tyler Sky McDaniel.
The family is requesting that masks be worn by visitors during services.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 from 1:00 to 2:00 PM in Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 North State Road 3, Muncie with funeral services immediately following at 2:00 PM, also in the Funeral Home, officiated by Kevin Holt. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Muncie. Online condolences may be made by visiting www.gardenviewandgardensofmemory.com .
