E. Jane Norris, 81, passed away Sunday, August 30, 2009 at Ball Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.
Jane was born in Monticello, Kentucky on November 14, 1927, the daughter of Nona Anderson, and graduated from Owensboro, Kentucky Schools.
Mrs. Norris was a member of the American Legion Post 137 in New Castle, and she volunteered many hours of service cooking for various Legion events. Jane was also a member of the Muncie Moose Lodge Post 33, and was involved with Foster Grandparents Program in New Castle.
Survivors include a brother, Cecil "Bud" Dishman, (wife, Kathy), Pendleton; a niece, Debbie Boots, (husband, Roger), Selma; two nephews, Scott Johnson, Muncie and Chad Johnson, Muncie; four great-nieces, Cortney Carpenter, Selma, Jessica Carpenter, Muncie, Heather Johnson, Florida and Leslie Johnson, Florida; a great-nephew, Christopher Johnson, Florida; a great-great niece, Kendyl Carpenter, Selma; three great-great nephews, Cainen and Keegan Carpenter, Selma and Anthony Johnson, Florida; a special cousin, Susie Wilburn; and several extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her mother; a sister, Vela Johnson; and her husband of thirty-five years, James R. Norris.
Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, September 3, 2009 at Parson Mortuary with Pastor Rusty Clements officiating.
Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, 10703 N. State Rd 3, Muncie, IN.
Friends may call at Parson Mortuary one hour prior to time of service Thursday.
