Earl Collins Manis of Muncie, Indiana passed away at Wesleyan Health and Rehabilitation in Marion, Indiana at the age of 89 on Friday, February 26, 2021. He was born in Little Crab, Tennessee on May 24, 1931 to the late Ocia Bates and Hiley Lee (Wright) Manis.
Earl married Goldie Christine Cox on April 16, 1955. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War Conflict. He worked as a Foundry General Maintenance Foreman at Interstate Castings in Indianapolis, Indiana for 30 years. He was a member of Cowan Christian Church.
Earl is survived by his wife, Goldie Christine (Cox) Manis of Muncie, Indiana; sons Rick Manis (Edith) of Markleville, Indiana and Duane Manis of Wentzville, Missouri; daughter, Beverly Heath (Skeeter) of La Porte, Indiana; brothers, Coy Manis of Markle, Indiana, Daniel Manis of Crossville, Tennessee, Eddie Manis of Texas, and Roy Manis of Tennessee; sisters, Jimmie McCourt of Beckley, West Virginia and Reba Wyatt of Nashville, Tennessee; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents, Ocia Bates and Hiley Lee (Wright) Manis and several brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 4, 2021 from 12:00 to 2:00 PM in Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 North State Road 3, Muncie with funeral services immediately following at 2:00 PM, also in the Funeral Home and with Military Honors. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Muncie. Memorial donations may be made to the US Department of Veteran Affairs.
