Edgar Allen Miller, 72, of Farmland, IN went home to be with the Lord and wife at 6:24 p.m. on Friday December 22, 2006 after a long battle with COPD at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, IN. He was born on April 18, 1934 in Muncie , IN the son of John Earl and Margaret Katherine (Stant) Miller. On November 24, 1953 in Muncie , IN he married Gennell (Heckler) Miller who preceded him in death on November 11, 1989.
He served in the Army National Guard. He worked ground maintenance at Ball Memorial Hospital for over 20 years and retired in 1994. He attended Grace Baptist Church in Winchester , IN. He enjoyed the outdoors.
Surviving relatives include two sons, Rick A. Miller (wife-Deb) of Eaton; Kenneth A. Miller (wife-Twylia) of Muncie; two daughters, Becky A. Hardwick (husband-Bill) of Farmland, IN; Kathy Adams (husband-Mark) of Dunkirk, IN; one sister, Carolyn Sue Lee (husband-John) of Byrstown, TN; one sister-in-law, Violet Miller of Muncie, IN; seven grandchildren, Candi Bibbs; Misty Alsip; Kimberly Hayes; Kenny Cassada; Amanda Shock; Lydia Hardwick; and Leah Hardwick; two step-grandchildren, Corey and Shane Reynolds; twelve great-grandchildren. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. His parents, wife, and one brother, Earl Miller, preceded him in death.
Services will be 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday December 27, 2006 at Garden View Funeral Home 10501 North State Road 3 Muncie, IN. Entombment will be in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel of Memories. The Delaware County Honor Guard will provide military rites. Bill Hardwick will officiate the service. Visitation will be on Tuesday December 26, 2006 from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the Grace Baptist Church in Winchester in memory of Edgar Miller. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
