Edith B. Greer, 86, passed away Monday morning, February 21, 2011 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital.
She was born on January 15 1925 in Forbus, TN the daughter of Grover and Selena (Reynolds) Crouch.
She graduated from Alvin C. York High School in 1943, then moved to Muncie and attended Muncie Business College.
Mrs. Greer was employed at Beatrice Foods as a bookkeeper for eleven years prior to her retirement in 1974 due to an early disability in life. Yet, she was a family-loving, Christian lady.
She attended Glad Tidings Assembly of God.
Surviving are her special niece, Diane Stevens, Austin, TX; a special nephew, Larry Gearheart, Las Vegas, NV; a sister, Pauline Reagan, Jamestown, TN; a brother-in-law, John Gearheart, Crossville, TN; and a host of loving friends, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of many years, Walter Greer in 1984; three brothers, Dimmer, Delmer, and Charles Crouch; three sisters, Avo Guffey, Eva Linder, and Ollie Gearheart; and an infant sister.
The family is very grateful to Mrs. Greer's special friend, Carolyn York, for her kindness and assistance.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 1, 2011 in The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel with Pastor Kevin Holt officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, north of Muncie.
Friends may call at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Monday or one hour prior to services on Tuesday.
