Edith L. Huffer, 88, of Muncie, IN died Friday October 3, 2008 at Golden Living Center in Muncie. She was born on March 20, 1920 in Greenville, OH the daughter of George and Rosa (Vanatta) Newbauer. She married Robert Peebles who preceded her in death in 1959 and on June 30, 1962 she married Osbie Huffer who preceded her in death on June 18, 2008.
Edith was a member of the Fairlawn Church of Christ in Muncie. She enjoyed cooking and sewing. She was a very caring and generous woman who would often help others. She enjoyed swimming at the YWCA.
Surviving relatives include on son, William Peebles (wife: Terri) of Muncie, IN; one daughter, Elizabeth Mendenhall (husband: Ray) of Greenville, OH; two sisters, Forence Witter and Georgianna Hotmire both of Union City, IN; six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, eight brothers, one sister.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday October 6, 2008 at Garden View Funeral Home 10501 North State Road 3 Muncie, IN. Burial will follow at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday October 5, 2008 at the funeral home.
