Edna Grace Flannery, 86, passed away peacefully, August 5, 2007, at Muncie Health & Rehabilitation, after an extended illness.
Edna was born September 19, 1920 in Blackford County, the daughter of Isaac and Margaret Clevenger.
She lived in Delaware County most of her life and attended DeSoto United Methodist Church where she enjoyed worship and fellowship with her friends and neighbors. She was an avid sports fan, in particular baseball. The Cincinnati Reds were her favorite team.
Edna is survived by her husband of 61 years, Elwood M. Flannery; brother, Richard Clevenger (wife: Corrine), daughter, Sherlene (Flannery) Clevenger (husband: Mike); son, Dale Flannery (wife: Gayle); son, Wayne Flannery (wife: Roxie); son, David Flannery; daughter, Zaneda (Flannery) Burney (husband: Gary); eight grandchildren, and one great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Helen Foust; sister, Merl Ashcraft; brother, Charles Clevenger; and her precious grandson, Jamie Lynn Clevenger.
As a wife, mother, and grandmother, none compare. She defined the words "unconditional love" and was the ultimate care-giver. We, who knew and loved her, will miss her every day but know we have been forever blessed because of her love.
Services will be 10:00 a.m. on Thursday August 9, 2007 at Garden View Funeral Home 10501 North State Road 3 Muncie, IN. Rev. Daryl Hamlyn will officiate the service. Burial will follow at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie. Visitation will be from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
