Obituary

Edward Vaughn Huffman

May 6, 1945 – January 28, 2026

Edward "Ed" Vaughn Huffman of Muncie, Indiana, age 80, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2026. He was born in Winchester, Indiana on May 6, 1945 and lived a life defined by faith in Christ, dedication to family, professional integrity, and service to others.

Ed proudly served in the Army National Guard and achieved the rank of Sergeant. He carried that same sense of responsibility and steadiness throughout his life and career.

He spent many years working in the financial sector, where he built a long and respected career as a trusted advisor. He took pride in helping individuals and families plan for their futures and successfully navigate their retirement years. Known for his honesty, patience, and practical guidance, he earned the confidence of his clients and formed lasting relationships built on trust.

Outside of work, Ed took great pride in keeping a beautiful yard and found a lot of joy being on his tractor, mowing his lawn — and often the lawns of neighbors as well. It was one of the ways he showed care for others and enjoyment in simple, tangible accomplishments. He was also a lifelong baseball fan who was thrilled to see his beloved Los Angeles Dodgers win the World Series. He also remained a loyal — if often disappointed — Cleveland Browns fan.

Above all else in this world, Ed cherished his wife, Judy, whom he loved well and served faithfully for 60 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary (Cox) Huffman and L. Roy Huffman, and by his brother, Roger Huffman.

Ed is survived by his beloved wife, Judy (Ruble) Huffman; his special daughters: Annette Fowler, Cheryl Clevenger (Tom) and Shelly Pankratz (Ron); his cherished grandchildren: Trisha, Justin, Joshua, Michael, Hannah, Jake, Chelsy, Chance, Chye, Luke, Kennedy and Morgan; and two precious great grandchildren: Olivia and Caleb. He is also survived by his treasured sister, Joan Barnes (husband Dale, deceased), his dear sister-in-law Edi Huffman, and his much loved and valued brothers, Vernon Huffman (wife Joanne, deceased) and Max Huffman (Kathleen), along with many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

Ed will be remembered for his steady presence, his helpful spirit, his loyalty, and the deep love he had for his family.
