Edward Lewis Miller, age 82 passed away unexpectedly on September 5th, 2016.
A current resident of North Port, FL, he was born in Gaston IN, and graduated from Harrison Township High School in 1952 and Ball State University in 1956. He was veteran of the US Army and retired from the accounting department of GM-Chevrolet Muncie.
He was loved and will be forever missed by his loving wife and best friend of 60 years Marilyn (Polhemus) Miller, one brother, James Miller, and four children, Debra Hollowell (David), Jayne Lee (David), Stephen Miller (Rochelle), and Brian Miller (Marianne Banford). Grandchildren, Lindsey Helms (Bryan Preston), Tim Hollowell, Amy Hollowell, Alicia Miller, Morgan Miller, Ashley Wright (Donnie), and Jordan Miller. Great grandchildren, Braden Hawkins, Erin Wright, Eli Wright, Landon Miller ,Eugene Preston-Helms, and Patience Preston-Helms. Nieces, Mary Broyles, Natalie Marsh, and Lois Williams. Nephew Kevin Miller. Brother-in-law Donald Williams.
He was preceded in death by his loving parents Darrell and Bertha (Scott) Miller, and sister, Joyce Williams.
He will be remembered as a loving, joyful, selfless father, best grandfather, brother and uncle. He enjoyed singing in the church choir. He and his loving wife and best friend Marilyn would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on September 9th, 2016.
He is a member of Center Chapel United Methodist Church and currently attended North Port Community United Church of Christ.
Calling hours will be Tuesday evening September 13th from 5-7pm at Garden View Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Wednesday September 14th at 10am with burial following at Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
