Edward "Mitchell" Rowe, 68, peacefully went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 29th, 2017 in the presence of his loving wife of 47 years Lana Murphy Rowe at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital. He was born April 28th, 1948 in Montgomery, WV to the late Alice Vance Pace and Edward A. Rowe.
Mitchell served our country in the United States Army. He moved to Muncie in 1968, where he was employeed at Frank''s Foundry for 17 years. He then moved to Dublin, VA where he was self-employeed as an appliance technician for 7 years. Mitchell later returned to Muncie where he worked as the grounds keeper and property maintence manager for both Hazelwood Christian Church and Huffer Memorial Childrens Center. He enjoyed fishing on his boat, playing guitar, and working on anything and everything.
Mitchell is survived by his loving wife Lana Louise (Murphy) Rowe of Muncie; two sons Richard Rowe (Kimberly) of Grand Prairie, TX and Edward Jr. (Tangi) of Muncie; his favorite grandchildren Lindsey Rowe of Arlington, TX and Thomas Rowe of Grand Prairie, TX; his brother Vernon Crouch (Michele) of Christiansburg, VA. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Lowell Thomas Rowe and a sister Sandra Murphy.
Funeral Services for Mitchell will be held Wednesday, February 1st, 2017 at 12:30 p.m. at Garden View Funeral Home, with Pastor Ty Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, January 31st, 2017 at the funeral home.
