Edwin Ray “Ed” Glaze, age 84, of Muncie, Indiana, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2026. Born on June 21, 1942, in Delaware County, Indiana, Ed was the beloved son of Mark and Mary Glaze. He lived a life marked by a deep love for his family and friends.

Ed graduated from Eaton High School and later earned a certificate from Indiana Business College. He devoted 36 years of service to General Motors, retiring from the Muncie Chevrolet Plant after a distinguished career. He was also a faithful and active member of the 16th Street Church of God for many years.

Outside of work, Ed enjoyed fishing, reading, listening to live music, and collecting a wide variety of knick-knacks. In his younger retirement years, he was an avid cyclist, often riding more than 20 miles a day on trails throughout the Muncie area. He found happiness in simple pleasures and treasured every opportunity to spend time with family and friends.

Ed is survived by his loving wife, Jo Ellen Glaze; his sons, Doug Glaze (Pam) of Greenfield, Indiana, and Dave Glaze (Sheri) of Avon, Indiana; his step-daughter, Kellie Hayworth (Tim) of Raleigh, North Carolina; his brother, Jeffery Glaze of Lagro, Indiana; and his sister, Karen Roysden (Danny) of Muncie, Indiana. He is also survived by many cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mark and Mary Glaze; his stepson, Brian Barth; his brother, Gordon Glaze; and his sister, Trina Green.

Ed's presence brought joy and smiles to many, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. While his family mourns his passing, they are comforted by the promise of Heaven and the assurance that Ed is now rejoicing with loved ones and fellow believers who have gone before him.

His legacy of faith, love, and devotion to family will continue to live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.

The family will receive visitors from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at East 16th Street Church of God, 2605 E. 16th St., Muncie, IN 47302.

Immediately following, a service to celebrate Ed’s life will begin at 1:00 pm at the church with Pastor Douglas Lucy officiating.

Burial will take place at Gardens of Memory Cemetery, 10703 N. State Rd 3, Muncie, IN 47303.
