Muncie:
Eldon H. Beckley, 79, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 4, 2011 at Muncie Health and Rehabilitation Center. Eldon was born on May 13, 1931 in Albany, OH to the late Frank and Evelyn M. (Bolin) Beckley. On September 7, 1955 Eldon married his sweetheart Lora J. Melton in Winchester, IN.
Eldon is a U.S. Navy Reserve veteran. He was employed as a custodian for Delaware Tool and Machine, Ball State University, and Westinghouse. Eldon was an active member of Four Square Gospel Church where he loved to sing before he became ill. His family will greatly miss him as a husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
Eldon is survived by his loving wife Lora Beckley of 55 years; four children: Keith Beckley of Muncie; Lorraine Dorton (husband, Mike) of Muncie; Paul Beckley of Indianapolis; and Steven Beckley (wife, Wanda) of Muncie; four grandchildren: Lea Bowden (husband, Larry); Matthew Beckley; Aaron Beckley; and Seth Beckley; step-grandson Michael Dorton; brother Paul Beckley; four sisters: Frances Marie Cumbo; Deloris Craig; Shirley Smith; and Barbara Braden; and several nieces and nephews.
Eldon was preceded in death by his parents; brother Don Beckley; and sister Debbie Myers.
Visitation will be on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N. State Rd. 3, Muncie. The funeral service will be on Monday at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Allie Craycraft officiating. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory Cemetery with military rites honored by the Veterans of Delaware County Honor Guard.
