Eldon Barton "Slim" Wyatt, 73, completed his earthly journey and begins his heavenly eternity on Friday, June 8, 2012. Eldon loved life and stood as an example for many. His love for his family, immediate, extended and acquired, had no boundary. After completing 30 years of service at Delco Battery, Eldon retired to enjoy as many of his interest as he could, these included golf, travel and spending time with family and friends. Eldon leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 51 years, Joyce (sellers) Wyatt, two children son, Robert "Bob" (Janis) Wyatt and daughter, Cynthia "Cindy" L. (Cliff) Lowe. His three grandchildren held a very special place in his life, Robert B. Wyatt, Lynnette L. (Wyatt) Sisco (Matt) and Breanne Collins. Two surviving sisters, Georgia Korba and Dortha Potts (George), several nieces and nephews, extended family members, great friends and fraternal brothers. Eldon is preceded in death by his parents (Dora Mae Kelly and Robert Wyatt), his in-laws (Robert C. and Lucretia (Howell) Sellers), three sisters (Ruth, Mary and Florence) and two brothers (Ed and LeRoy). When Eldon was not golfing, he could be found working in the yard, garden or garage. Eldon enjoyed working outside, doing yard work, on vehicles, tractors and with wood. Eldon was also a member of Whitney Masonic Lodge #229, past master and 25 year member. Visitation will be Tuesday(06/12/12) from 4 to 8pm at Garden View Funeral Home. A Lodge of Sorrow service will be Tuesday evening at 7:30pm conducted by the Whitney Masonic Lodge #229. Funeral services will be Wednesday (06/13/12) 11am in the funeral home with Pastor Gary Cox of Westminister Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will follow the services in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Whitney Masonic Lodge # 229. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
