Obituary

Eleanor May (McLeland) Foster, 87, of Leslie, AR; formally of Muncie, IN, passed away May 1, 2009, at Hospice of the Ozarks, in Mountain Home, AR. She was born on May 11, 1921 in Muncie, IN to the late Pearl V. and Clara E. (Walburn) McLeland.
Eleanor belonged to the Avondale Sympathy Club. She also was a former member of Agape Ministries in Muncie. She also attended Ozark Chapel in Leslie, AR. Eleanor also enjoyed flower gardening as well as pie baking.
Surviving relatives include her son, Sherman "Vic" Foster (wife: Elaine) of Eaton, IN; daughter, Sandra Y. Leaird (husband: Kenneth) of Leslie, AR; sisters Rosemary Bowers of Middletown, IN; Shirley Wright (husband: Louie) of Shideler, IN; Nancy Coffey (husband: Bethonie) of Shideler, IN; grandchildren Shauna Taylor of Muncie, IN; Todd Taylor (wife: Tammy) of Springport, IN; Annette Fetters (husband: Dave) of Fort Pierce, FL; and Kevin Foster (wife: Shawn) of Springhill, TN; step-grandchildren Bart Leaird (wife: Anne) of Pittsboro, IN; and Chantal Leis of Elkhart, IN; 7 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchildren.
Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Sherman S. Foster; brothers, Everett McLeland, Glen McLeland, and Orville McLeland; and sisters Ruby Adkins and Ada Scales.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 7, 2009 at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 North State Road 3 Muncie, IN. Pastor Eldon Morehouse will officiate the service. Burial will follow in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 6, 2009 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. as well as one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of the Ozarks, 701 Burnett Drive, Mountain Home, AR 72653 in memory of Eleanor.
