Obituary

Eleanor "Radene" Godfrey, 87, went to her heavenly home peacefully at Lincolnshire Place in Muncie IN from the effects of Dementia on July 18, 2024. She was born to Homer and Novella (Turner)Webb on November 30, 1936 in Oxford Arkansas.  Radene grew up in Arkansas but the family moved to Missouri when their kids were still young.  She graduated in 1955 from Senath High School in Missouri. After high school she worked in a shoe factory attaching the soles to the shoes and also worked at a shirt factory sewing collars on men's shirts. She would eventually make some of her own dresses to wear to church. She married the love of her life in 1955, Coney Godfrey. They had a girl and a boy. When the kids were young she would sometimes take them to pick cotton with her. They eventually moved to Indiana when the kids were in grade school.  She volunteered at some of their schools in the lunch room then later when the kids were older she worked in the office at a Kmart North in Muncie for close to 15 years then moving to Georgia for 10 years where Coney retired then moved to Arkansas to be close to the Godfrey family for 10 years then back to Indiana in 2006 to be with kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. She enjoyed babysitting them and being around them and loved them with all her heart. She went to church at Full Gospel Temple for many many years until health reasons arose.
She is survived by her daughter, Sherry (Mike) Finney; son, Rick (Bonnie) Godfrey; sisters: Veda, and  Rose; and brothers: Orby, and Eugene. 7 granddaughters and 21 great grandchildren.
Radene was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Lionel "Coney" Godfrey, her brothers: Floyd, Jerry, Frank and sister: Velta and some nieces and nephews.
There will be a private family celebration of life at a later date.
