Eleanor Mae Hotmire, 91, of Muncie , IN died Saturday January 3, 2009 at Muncie Health and Rehabilitation Center in Muncie . She was born on May 3, 1917 in Delaware County the daughter of Allen S. and Hazel L. (Ross) Humbarger. On October 15, 1932 she married Harold P. Hotmire who preceded her in death on December 1, 1966.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Eden United Church of Christ.
Surviving relatives include two sons, Richard Hotmire (wife: Janet) of Muncie, IN; Norman Hotmire (wife: Marilyn) of Muncie, IN; two daughters, Mildred Brand (husband: Max) of Muncie, IN; Sharon Stoner (husband: Larry) of Lafayette, IN; one very close family friend, Marion Burton (wife: Kay) of Muncie, IN three brothers, Rex Humbarger (wife: Betty) of Arkansas; Ross Humbarger (wife: Lou Ann) of Fairborn, OH; Byron Humbarger of Muncie, IN; one sister, Rachel Hotmire of Muncie, IN; 28 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three infant daughters, two sisters, Mirian Streich and Emogene Smith.
Services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday January 7, 2009 at Garden View Funeral Home 10501 North State Road 3 Muncie, IN. Pastor Norma West will officiate the service. Burial will follow at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie , IN. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
