Eleanor Ethel (Townsend) Rubendall, 93, of Muncie, passed away on August 13, 2018. Eleanor was born in Angola to the late Pliny and Ethel (Harmon) Roberts.
Eleanor was a member of The Garden at Gethsemane United Methodist Church, the No-Name Club, the 55 and Alive Club, and the Chancellor Choir for over 20 years. Eleanor retired from BorgWarner Automotive. She loved to travel, camp, winter in Texas, cook, and was the ultimate multi-talented crafter. But above all, she loved her family to the fullest.
Eleanor was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. She leaves behind her husband, Don Rubendall; children: Ron J. (Frances) Townsend, Steven (Jeanne) Townsend, and Melanie J. (Stephen) Raz; step-children: Gary L. (Susan) Rubendall and Diana (Don) Macy; grandchildren: Stacy (Delmar) Birkey, Chad (Jennifer) Townsend, Daniel (Shannan) Townsend, and Niki (Brian) Hockenberry; 4 step-grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; 4 step-great-great-grandchildren; and many cousins and friends.
Eleanor was preceded in death by her first husband and father of her children, Jean H. Townsend; and 2 brothers: John Harvey and Jerry L. Roberts.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 19, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in
Garden View Funeral Home
, 10501 N. State Road 3, Muncie. An additional visitation will be held on Monday, August 20, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in The Garden at Gethsemane United Methodist Church, 1201 W. McGalliard Road, Muncie, with the funeral service immediately following at 11:00 a.m. A small burial ceremony will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery Chapel.
