Jean Joyce, 83, of Muncie, IN passed away on Friday, June 15th at Ball Memorial Hospital. She was born in Dearborn County, Lawrenceburg, IN on May 6, 1924, daughter of Carey (Probst) and Frank Fritch. She attended Lawrenceburg Schools. She married Henry Joyce on January 23, 1942 in Rising Sun, IN.
She Was employed at Guide Lamp in Anderson during WWII, Monticello Manufacturing Company in Elwood and Gaston Community Schools, Gaston.
She was a member of Redkey Church of the Nazarene, Eastern Star Chapter 71 Elwood, and Ladies of the Murat Temple.
She is survived by her daughter, Barbara (Joyce) Bergdoll, (husband: Jim) of Seymour, IN; two grandchildren, Jason Lasley (wife: Kristen) of Daleville, IN and Joyell Apple (husband: James) of Hartford City, IN; four great-grandchildren, Haley Apple, Ashton Apple, Owen Apple and River Lasley. Long time friend and companion Vinnie Norris. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Frank & Carey Fritch, her husband, Henry Joyce, son, Jackie Joyce, brother, Frank Fritch and sister, Mildred Merkle.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Ball Memorial Hospice and Redkey Church of the Nazarene.
Visitation services will be held at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 North State Road 3, Muncie, on Monday, June 18th from 4:00 - 8:00 PM with an Eastern Star service at 6:00 PM and funeral on Tuesday, June 19th at 11:00 AM with Pastor Phil Dorries officiating. Internment will be at Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Muncie, IN.
