Ella Faye Upchurch, 84, of Muncie, died Wednesday, February 13, 2008. She was born August 2, 1923, in Paris, TN.
Surviving are her children, Billy (Ida) Upchurch, Larry (Ida) Upchurch, Donald (Dorothy) Upchurch, Peggy Berry, and Carol Conley, and daughter-in-law, Sylvia Upchurch all of Muncie; one brother, Willard Wynn, of St. Louis, MO; a special sister-in-law, Delores Jackson and a special niece, Julia (James) Robertson, both of Chicago, IL, 18 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Ella was preceded in death by her husband, Jack O. Upchurch; her parents, J. T. Wynn and Lucille Lewis; Novella Burton; the person who raised her son, William Upchurch; grandson, Tyrone Upchurch; brother, Wade Jackson; and sister, Mattie (J.D.) Blakemore.
Funeral service 12:00 p.m. Thursday, February 21, 2008 at Union Baptist Church. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, just north of Muncie. Visitation from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. prior to the services at the church.
