Ellen Jane DuBois, 83, of Hartford City, IN, passed away at 4:05 p.m. Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at Miller's Merry Manor Nursing Home.
She was born on April 24, 1926 in Hartford City to the late Clancy Medler and the late Rebecca J. (Brown) Medler.
Ellen married Lenn O. DuBois on September 12, 1944 in Hartford City. He precedes her in death on September 30, 2009.
She retired from Indiana Box in Montpelier in 1994.
Ellen attended First Church of the Nazarene and was a member of the Lions Club.
She worked with AARP to mend clothing at the Nursing Home and summered at Lake Chapman. She loved to collect angels.
Ellen will be sadly missed by her sons, Ernie P. DuBois of Hartford City, Lenn Duane (wife, Marilyn) DuBois of Hartford City; daughter, Claudia (husband, Dean) Ford of Noblesville; grandchildren, Jennifer Dudley, Rodney DuBois, Abby Riggs, Gregory Ford, Amy Soder, Matthew Ford, Jeremy DuBois; eleven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brothers, Melvin Medler, John H. Medler, Fred Medler, Ernest Medler, Charles Medler; and sister, Mildred Ickes.
Visitation for Ellen will be from 3-5 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Friday, December 4, 2009 and from 9-11 a.m. Saturday, December 5, 2009 at Keplinger Funeral Home, 509 N. High St., Hartford City.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 5, 2009 at Keplinger Funeral Home.
Interment will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery, 10703 N. State Rd. 3, Muncie.
