Elmer Alexander Johnson, Sr. of Muncie, Indiana passed away at the age of 93 at home the afternoon of Wednesday, October 13, 2021. He was born in Commack, Indiana on May 5, 1928 to the late Leburn Belmer and Alice C. (Dragoo) Johnson.

Elmer graduated from high school and continued on to Borg Warner, where he retired as an Industrial Engineer in 1991 after more than 40 years of service. He proudly served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II. He married Carolyn L. Williams in Muncie on October 9, 1948. Elmer sure loved Carolyn's cooking. He also loved to travel and was an avid golfer, a woodworker, and a jack of all trades. He will be remembered by those left behind as a loving husband, father, and brother.

Elmer is survived by his wife of 73 years, Carolyn L. (Williams) Johnson of Muncie, Indiana; two sons, Elmer (Rusty) Johnson (Shelly) of Parker City, Indiana and Steve L. Johnson (Nancy) of Muncie, Indiana; two daughters, Sharon L. Puckett (Don) of Summerville, South Carolina and Sandra J. Johnson of Gaston, Indiana; two brothers, Jimmy H. Johnson of Muncie, Indiana and Darrell R. Johnson of Atlanta, Georgia; one sister, Nancy Smith of Florida; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Elmer was preceded in death by his parents, Leburn Belmer and Alice C. (Dragoo) Johnson; one brother, Jerry Johnson; and three sisters, Annabella Dutton, Charlotte Schultz, and Barbara Scaggs.

Celebration of life services will be held for friends and family on Thursday, October 21, 2021 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Mulligans Grill, 3325 S Walnut Street, Muncie.
