Ervin Lee New, 91 of Brooksville, FL and formerly of Muncie, died Thursday morning, September 1st, 2016 at Oak Hill Hospital in Spring Hill, FL. He was born March 30th, 1925 in Somerset, KY and was the son of the late Tolbert & Myrtle (Foster) New.
Ervin retired from Chevrolet in Muncie. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Ervin enjoyed listening to southern gospel music and traveling. He was a member of the Southside Church of the Nazarene.
Ervin is survived by three children, Darrell New (Linda), Gary New (Marianne) and Carol Barttrum (Butch) all of Florida; eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife Opal (Wilson) New, a son Roger New, a granddaughter Stephanie New and two brothers Paul and Bill New.
Funeral Services for Ervin will be held Monday, September 12, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Garden View Funeral Home, with Pastor Wes New officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Kokomo Relief Fund for the victims of the tornado in care of the Kokomo First Church of the Nazarene, with envelopes provided at the funeral home.
