Obituary

Estell Louellen (Stratton) Arnold, 78, of Indianapolis, IN; former Muncie, IN resident, passed away May 11, 2009 at her residence in Indianapolis, IN. She was born on May 25, 1930 in Muncie, IN to the late Henderson "Henry" and Pearl E. (Sharp) Stratton.
Estell graduated from Muncie Central High School and also attended nursing school. Estell was employed by Ball Memorial Hospital as a licensed practical nurse for 36 years. Before retiring in 1993, Estell also had an article published about her care and attention she paid to her patients. Estell was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Muncie and also enjoyed participating in church activities as well as children''s programs.
Surviving relatives include her four loving children, Edward Lavel Ellis, Sr. of Muncie, IN; Belinda R. Ellis of Indianapolis, IN; Dawn Arnold of Indianapolis, IN; and Andre M. Arnold (wife: Alesha) of Indianapolis, IN; special daughters Carlita Davis of Muncie, IN and Colette Rollins (husband: Joe Sr.) of Indianapolis, IN; sisters Bernice Stewart of Milwaukee, WI; Rosie Russell of Indianapolis, IN; Birdie Stratton of Indianapolis, IN; and Helen Reese of Augusta, GA; grandchildren Edward L. Ellis, Jr of Cedar Rapids, IA; Steve Frazier (wife: Antionette) of Oklahoma City, OK; and Laila Arnold of Indianapolis, IN; 6 great-grandchildren; nieces Charlena Reese of Augusta, GA; Melissa Givens of Augusta, GA; Denise Ewing of Muncie, IN; and Beatrice Sharp of Milwaukee, WI; nephews Kenneth Stratton of Oklahoma City, OK; Dean Stratton (wife: Kathy) of Atlanta, GA; Tony Stratton (wife: Lois) of Shreveport, LA; Steve Reese of Muncie, IN; and Lonnie Reese (wife: Girlinda) of Fairbanks, AK; and special sister Emma Dorrough of Muncie, IN.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother William H. Stratton; sister Betty Hill; and nephews Todd Stratton and Jabbar Reese.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2009 at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 820 S. Penn Muncie, IN. Pastor Aston Chambers will officiate the service. Eulogy will be presented by Elder Joe Rollins, Sr. Burial will follow in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie. Visitation will be Saturday, May 16, 2009 from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Mt.
