Estelle Coop, 83, went to be with the Lord Tuesday morning, November 17, 2009 at The Waters of Yorktown following a brief illness.
She was born October 11, 1926 in Byrdstown, TN the daughter of Foster and Clementine (Cope) Neal, graduated as Valor Victorian from Pickett County High School in 1944 and moved to Muncie in 1950.
Mrs. Coop worked at J.C. Penny Company in the 1960's. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church and Warner Gear Sympathy Club.
Surviving are three sons, Leslie Daryl Coop (wife, Connie), Jeffersonville, IN, Johnnie Ray Coop, Anderson, IN, and Terry Lee Coop, Muncie; four grandchildren, Johnnie R. Coop, Jr. (wife, Stephanie), Casey Coop (wife, Amie), Leslie Erin Hopkins (husband, David), and Austin Coop; four great grandchildren, Preston Coop, Colin Coop, Hayden Coop, and Luke Hopkins; two brothers, Ralph Neal (wife, Doris), Knoxville, TN and Frank Neal (wife, Myrna), Daleville, IN; a sister, Nellie Garrett (husband, Kirby), Muncie; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Welby Coop; two brothers; and two sisters.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, November 20, 2009 at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel.
Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, 10703 N. State Rd. 3, Muncie.
Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Thursday, November 19, 2009 at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel or one hour prior to services on Friday.
