Obituary

Ms. Esterine Modock, 86, passed away Monday, September 6, 2010 at Ball Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness.
Ms. Modock was a 75 year resident of Muncie, IN coming from Blytheville AK.
She retired from Area 6 Council on Aging. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church where she belonged to the Mt. Zion Senior Choir, the dining staff, BTU and had been the church secretary. She was a long-time cosmetologist and a member of the Victor Bowling League. She was a member of the first three 'Back to Muncie' committees, with the 'Back to Muncie' E-MO bowling tournament named after her.
She leaves to cherish her memory four daughters, Sherry L. Hopkins, Indianapolis, IN, Retta Milton-Burns, Seattle, WA, Jane Harden, 'Anderson, IN, and Leah (John) Miller; a son, Phillip L. Williams, Myrtle Beach, SC; two sisters, Creola Cocks-Beacon, Chicago, IL and' Mildred Andrews, Toledo, OH; nineteen grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; eighteen great-great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Ms. Modock was preceded in death by her parents, Esaw and 011ie Mae McKinney; three brothers, L.D. McKinney, Willie C. McKinney, and Leo Smith.
Funeral services will be at 12:00 noon, Monday, September 13, 2010 at Church of the Living God, 1120 E. Washington Street, with calling from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. prior to services. Internment will be in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
