Esther Marie Sims, 95, went to be with the Lord, on Friday, December 14, 2018, at Golden Living Center in Muncie.

Esther was born March 3, 1923 in Alexandria, IN, the daughter of Frank and Lillie (Terwilliger) Castor.   After graduation, Esther married Charles E. Sims on December 30, 1944. Together they had three children.

Esther worked at Ball State University for over 25 years in the Dining Services.  She was a member of the Avondale Sympathy Club.   Esther was also very proud to have been the matriarch of 5 generations of her family, as well as being a born-again Christian.  Esther and Charles attended many churches in the Muncie area, gaining new friends wherever they went.   Esther, therefore, never knew a stranger.

Esther is survived by her children:  Sharon (Roy) Hudson, Dana (Bill) Arnold, and Gregory Kent (Kathy) Sims; sisters: Elna Lawler and June Herron; 7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to Esther's parents, she was preceded in passing by the love of her life, husband, Charles Sims, of 64 years.
