Ethel Mae Smith, 88, of Muncie, passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at The Waters of Yorktown Health Care.
Ethel was born July 6, 1925 in Henderson, North Carolina to the late George and Minnie Lee Anderson. Ethel spent her life as a homemaker raising her two sons. She was a member of the Wesleyan Chapel Church.
Ethel is survived by two sons, Oscar "Smoke" Smith (wife Betty) of Elwood and Herbert "Skip" Smith Jr. (wife Carmelita) of Yorktown; three grandchildren, Julie Wright (husband Chris), Brandon Smith, and Benjamin Smith; one great-grandson, Keegan Borst; and several nieces and nephews.
Ethel was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Smith Sr. in 1981; and a brother, George "Shorty" Anderson.
A funeral service to celebrate Ethel''s life will be held at 3:00pm Saturday, January 25, 2014 at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N. State Road 3, Muncie, Indiana.
Friends and family may gather to share and remember from 1:00pm to 3:00pm Saturday, at Garden View Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie.
