Obituary

Ethel L. Swartout, 77, of Muncie, IN passed away on Tuesday January 1, 2008. Ethel was born on March 26, 1930 in Union City, Indiana the daughter of George and Florence( Hall) Monroe. In June of 1969 Ethel married Terrance Swartout who precededs her in death.
Ethel was a homemaker most of her life Ethel was a member of the Industry United Methodist Church , she loved her cat Ariel and most of all she loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ethel was known as a very giving person. In her free time she helped out at Woodlands Nursing Home.
Surviving relatives include her two daughters; Carolyn Munday (husband: John) of Eaton, IN; Marie Parsons (husband: Bobby) of Muncie, IN; three sisters; Mary Campbell of Muncie, IN; Emily Grayson of Muncie, IN; Carol Gene Monroe of Marion, IN; one brother John (wife:Joanne)Monroe of Muncie, IN; nine grandchildren; Alissa Conklin (husband: Jason) of Yorktown, IN; Christopher Parsons (wife: Debbie) of Muncie, IN; Jennifer Reagan of Indianapolis, IN; Jodi Munday of Daleville, IN; Brad Hicks (wife: Carri) of Muncie, IN; Adam Wright of Muncie, IN; Bobby Parsons (wife: Kellie) of Muncie, IN; Jerry Munday of Daleville, IN; Jeremy Reagan of Eaton, IN; special friend Don Cook. Great-Grandchildren; Payton Hicks; Brooklyn Hicks; Jayme Taylor; Ethen Parsons; Hayley Conklin; Melia Conklin.
She was preceded in death by one daughter Pamela Sue Whitcomb, her parents, grandparents and her husband.
Service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday January 4, 2008 at Garden View Funeral Home 10501 North State Road 3 Muncie, IN. Burial will be at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie. Visitation will be on Friday January 4, 2008 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Memorial contributions can be made to the family. Envelopes will be at the funeral home.
