Eva Mae Hayden, 91, of Reed Station, widow of Earl Clay Hayden, died at her home after an extended illness.

She was born the 7 th child of Lawrence J. Pope & Eva L. (Barrett) Pope in their Henry County Home. She attended Blountsville School for 5 years. Her family then moved where she attended and graduated from Mt. Summit High School Class of 1945.

She taught many little ones as a Sunday School & Bible School Teacher. She later was the leader of the Adult Sunday School for several years at the Reed Station Church. She worked at Sears, Lawler's, Muncie 1 Hour Cleaners, Billie's Draperies and was a seamstress at home, she loved quilting and reading.

She is survived by son Daniel (Karen) and daughter Linda; six grandchildren Tracy (Scott) Blewett, Dawn (Darren) Hines, Melissa (Jimmy) Gambrel, Randall "J.R." (Jennifer) Hendricks III, Alicia (Jaime) Mejia and Darren Hayden; great-grandchildren Brooke, Grant, Marissa, Mariah, Austin, Ava, Hayden, Nora and Ethan; four step-grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter Penelope; two step-great-great grandchildren; a very special neighbor girl Marilyn Miller Clevenger Upchurch; a special niece Carolyn Oxley Diggins; two sisters Joyce Huston and Bonnie Edington.  Several nieces and nephews also survive. Preceding her in death are 6 sisters Phylis Pope, Wanda Wallace, Blanche Lykins, Jean Ives, Helen McDowell and Patty Flowers and a brother Russell Pope.
