MUNCIE - Eva Slone, 85, of Muncie IN died Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at her residence.
She was born on February 11, 1923 in Lothair, KY, the daughter of William and Nancy (Bowling) Sexton. On February 11, 1944 she married Isom Slone, Jr. who preceded her in death.
She loved her family very much and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She was a very loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Eva enjoyed playing cards and Nascar.
Surviving relatives include two sons, Daskel Slone (wife: Penny) of Muncie, and Jim Slone (wife:Carol), Indianapolis; two brothers, Winifred Sexton (wife: Joan), Farmland and Haskel Sexton, Spartenburg, SC; four grandchildren, Jamin Slone, Greensboro, NC, Kimberly Rowe (husband: Richard), Grand Prairie, TX, James Bo Slone (wife: Elizabeth), Elgin, TX and Andrew Slone, Muncie; four great grandchildren; and many special nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one son, Brian T. Maggard; two sisters; and three brothers.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 19, 2009 at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N. State Road 3, Muncie, IN.
Burial will follow at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie.
Visitation will be on Monday from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Ball Memorial Hospice or the Cancer Center at Ball Memorial Hospital.
