Evelyn M. Lowery, 92, of Muncie, passed away on Saturday, July 3, 2010 at The Woodlands in Muncie. She was born on December 12, 1917 in Pendleton, IN to the late Luther and Lyle Mae (Bond) Greene. Evelyn is a 1938 graduate of Muncie Central High School. On December 13, 1941 Evelyn married her love, James Clarence Lowery in Muncie.
Evelyn was a homemaker as well as a self-employed beautician for over 40 years. She also worked for Ball Brothers for a short time. Evelyn was an avid cross-word puzzle worker in addition to her playing Euchre. Evelyn also enjoyed traveling to the South and Southwest with her husband.
Evelyn is survived by her loving husband of nearly 69 years, James Lowery; and their loving son, Marvin Lowery (wife, Diana) of Eaton; and several nieces and nephews.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; son Thomas Lowery; sister Phyllis Aerts; 4 brothers: Willard Lukens; Paul Greene; Everet Greene; and James Milton Greene; and half-brother Howard McCune.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 7, 2010 from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N. State Rd. 3, Muncie, with the funeral service following at 3:00 p.m. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
