Fern Janice Burgess, 86 of Muncie, died early Saturday morning, September 24th, 2016 at Rosegate Village Nursing Home in Indianapolis. She was born January 19th, 1930 in Hartford City and was the daughter of the late Zeddie & Mabel (March) Alexander.
Fern was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She retired from Ball State University as a payroll specialist. She was an avid Colt''s Fan and very much enjoyed her pet cats.
Fern is survived by her two children, Trudy Seats of Francesville, IN and Donald E. Burgess, Jr. of Indianapolis; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; a sister Annabel Marcouiller of Minneapolis, MN. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband Donald E. Burgess, Sr., two brothers John and Zeddie Jr. Alexander.
Private Graveside Services will be held Saturday, October 1st, 2016 for immediate family only in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Garden View Funeral Home. The family request that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer''s Association.
