Ferol G. Oren, 97 of Muncie, IN died at 5:20 a.m. on Monday October 8, 2007 at Muncie Health and Rehabilitation Center in Muncie. She was born on June 19, 1910 in Randolph County, IN the daughter of Russel J. and Bertha (Shaffer) Garringer. On February 19, 1933 in Ft. Thomas, KY she married Robert Paul Oren who preceded her in death in 1961.
She graduated from Farmland, IN high school after skipping two grades and went to work for Stillman''s department stores at the age of 16. She later worked for Prudential Insurance then Bacon American Corporation until her retirement in 1980. She was a member of Bear Creek Friends Church.
Surviving relatives include one daughter, Susan Medler of Denton Texas; one son Robert Paul Oren, Jr. (wife: Betty) of Indianapolis IN; one brother, Richard K. Garringer (wife: Ruth); five grandchildren, Stephen Oren of Indianapolis IN; Shari Oren of Oakland, CA; Bradley Medler of Brecksville, OH; Stacey Yanez of McKinney, TX; Scott Medler of Amherst, NY; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and three brothers.
A viewing will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday October 10, 2007 at Garden View Funeral Home 10501 North State Road 3 in Muncie, IN. Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday October 10, 2007 at Gardens of Memory Cemetery, 10501 North State Road 3, Muncie, IN.
