Florence Lee (Carpenter) Hedge, 77, of Shideler, IN, passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at Renaissance Muncie Healthcare. She was born on January 6, 1932 in Camden, TN to the late William O. and Ordell (Kelly) Carpenter. On December 21, 1946 Florence married Robert Edward Hedge in Mississippi.
Florence loved to sew, flower garden, make crafts, and cook for her family. Florence also worked for The Rustic Cabin in Royerton for a few years.
Surviving relatives include her loving children, Larry Hedge (wife: Sandy); Bill Hedge (wife: Angie); and Martha Dorton, all of Eaton, IN; sister Willie Fitts of Camden, TN; 12 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert of 28 years; parents; sons Jerry and Glen; and great-grandson Taylor Chalfant.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 29, 2009 at Garden View Funeral Home 10501 North State Road 3 Muncie, IN. Pastor Dennis Trimble will officiate the service. Burial will follow in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie. Visitation will be Friday, May 29, 2009 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
