Flossie Ermal (Sims) McCord, 94, of Muncie, IN, passed away Saturday, August 15, 2009 at Albany Health & Rehab Center in Albany, IN. She was born on June 18, 1915 in Muncie, IN to the late Earl and Maude (Lykins) Sims. On February 22, 1936 Flossie married Earl McCord, Jr.
Flossie was employed for Union City''s Westinghouse for 16 years as a small motor assembler. She retired in 1967. She also worked 10 years at the Rusty Cabin as a cook. Flossie was also a wonderful cook for her family. Flossie was a member of Glad Tidings Church.
Surviving relatives include her seven loving children: Gail McCord (wife: Naomi) of Red Key, IN; Stanley McCord (wife: Shirley) of Saratoga, IN; Phillip McCord (wife: Carol) of Portland, IN; Neal McCord (wife: Barbara) of Muncie, IN; Earl McCord, Jr. of Argyle, WI; Ermal Reynolds (husband: William) of Winchester, IN; and Sherry McCord of St. Henry, OH; sister Burnise Rainey (husband: Lester) of Muncie, IN; 17 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Flossie was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Earl McCord, Jr. of 61 years; 2 sisters; and 2 brothers.
Funeral services will be at 2:00p.m. on Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 North State Road 3 Muncie, IN. Reverend Kevin Holt will officiate the service. Burial will follow in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie. Visitation will be Monday, August 17, 2009 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
